Chadwick was rough for our first time. They have great bathrooms, camp sites, and had very little people there. The riding was a little tough as our guide my buddy took us down, down, and down this hill. Then we had to get back up. Rock drop offs as we went down so of course there were rock drop offs as we went back up. I got 2 of the 3 atvs back up what I fondly called Devils Staircase. Bike guys were huffing and puffing at the top as I rode my wifes grizzly up that hill. My buddy and son pushed my sons polaris 200 up. Then I rode my Raptor 350 up. I was king of the hill 2 times. Anyway the riding could have been better as we had a bad guide. I do plan on going back and finding some better trails to ride on.

Well the Chadwick forecast is calling for a good chance of rain through the rest of this week and weekend. We might put the trip on hold. Maybe more guys can go next time too. It's not bad to ride down there when it's wet because the rocks soak it up well, but I'm more worried about having to camp in the rain. My tent didn't keep out the water very well last time. All the rain this summer is really getting on my nerves!! I'm not sure I even remember how to ride at this point...I don't care how green my grass is. lol

The 200 went up remarkably fast. With my buddy on the throttle and my son on the other side walking or running beside his quad it went up in about a minute to a minute and a half.

chawick is better for 4x4 than 2x4.love crawling rocks and, spending a week down there is the best so you can see most all of the park.

Yeah, I would agree......showing up on a Friday night and leaving by 2:00 PM on Sunday was quite a challenge......But, we rode every trail that we could find and then some I think....LOL

I would definately agree with you on that one too Bryan!

It is probably one of the best, if not the best challenges that I have encountered in my 30 years of riding.

I sure would like another try at Chadwick, maybe someone who has some knowledge of the trails this time could be out guide. My family and I are willing to go back. Anyone want to lead us ATV riders?

Think Iam going to do some maintenance this coming weekend, get the ATV's ready to ride.

It's usually just a spur of the moment mid week decision to go down one weekend for me anyways. I'll let you know when it may be Rick and perhaps we can "Get-R-Done".

I've been down there 4 times since I started riding again back in '08. I'm definitely still learning the place, but I recognize a few landmarks and trails now when I go. I wouldn't make for a good guide, that's for sure. haha The trails aren't as organized and categorized as you might expect in most spots. The trail maps look nice, but really they don't represent the difficulty levels all that well. If you stick to the main trails that make big loops on the trail maps, like 101 and 113, they'll take you around on good rides and won't get you into too much trouble. Stay away from the shorter, offchute trails that you see on the map if you didn't bring your rock climbing gear. lol

101,113 big loops got it. Now if I only will remember it when I go this next time. They told me this last time I went that they were all really difficult to ride, that all were Black Diamond. Been there done that as for the rock climbing. I dont remember which one we went down but OH Boy was it a difficult ride. Thanks for the advice Bike Junkie.

Couldn't agree with you more Bryan,
It all depends on how you feel at the moment and if you are up for a challenge. We got clear down on the South West corner in the bottom of a creek bed and then took the Black Diamond hill up and over the crest. Needless to say, it cost a new front brake lever for my buddie. That wasn't the worst part though, had to come back down with only being able to get two fingers on the lever....Oh Boy!
