Was Last Meeting May 22 2010

Was there a meeting this past Saturday? If so where was it at? What was discussed?

Rickey that one was my fault, I thought you guys had discussed it with Bryan but two days before he sent me a text wondering what the heck was going on too lol.

I was not going to be able to make it due to having my house tore in half ( literally no siding and open to the world lol ) and Bryan is still hurt.

We are going to start working on next months meeting immediately and will be doing a BBQ providing the weather holds up for the grill

Does anybody have suggestions on where we might hold the next meeting?

I still want to see Perry Lake, if that's closer and easier for ya'll.
There is always Deepwater, and we can set up the canopy and meet there, bring food, and ride. Or we can reserves some campsites at Sparrowfoot, just up the road, and have a cookout and meeting after riding all day, those who want could stay to camp together Saturday night. You have to trailer the bikes to and from, but it's not far. (I know most of ya'll know that, but just in case a new person doesn't)
We don't have property to ride on, or we could do it all here. That's always our goal..ride with other people and get some business done while we're at it!

I have to agree with my wife, Sparrowfoot or Perry Lake would be cool. If we can get a lot of people to camp out. We can get to know one another over some adult beverages, and maybe a hot dog or two. Whatya all say!!

What date are we looking at so I can maybe make it since I haven't made one yet.

I believe it was June 19th Greg, I will get with Bryan today to confirm that but I believe that is correct.

I will be making a post before then to vote on Saturday or Sunday meeting but that should give you a good head start. Hopefully you can make this one Greg, would be great for you to get a chance to meet some of the others in the club that you have not had a chance to meet yet.

June 19, 2010 - Club Meeting / Need to select location.

July 17 or July 31, 2010 - Club Meeting / Need to select date and location.

August 28 or August 29, 2010 - Club Meeting / Need to select date and location.

September 25 or September 26, 2010 - Club Meeting / Need to select date and location.

October 23 or October 24, 2010 - Club Meeting / Need to select date and location.

I am open to doing either a Saturday or a Sunday. Please give us some feed back so that we can try and get something scheduled for June.

I do not know if you all realize this or not, but June 19 is the day before fathers day. This may throw a wrench into the camping (usually camp 2 days) and riding idea!! Unless we do it on friday night to ride on the 19th. This may make some people scramble to get things done so they can camp on friday. For instance for us, my wife does not get off of work until 530 to 6pm. Then it is a 2 1/2 hour drive to Perry. Then setting up to camp. Phew! Hmm, dont know if she could ask for friday off or not. Lets ask!!

Instead of Perry then lets select a different location and just put the camping off til next time.

I was headed out the 18th for vacation but will try to stall my son a day to make this ride. I'll camp there the 18th then go on to my regular plans the night of the 19th or 20th if everyone is having good time. Ready to meet up.

No matter what we do we can't fit everyones schedule so plan it do it and then those that can will while the ones that can't meet the next morning or around noon for lunch and riding.Simple solution.

I couldn't think of a better fathers day gift than to spend the days watching my boys ride. Or, at least watching them leave in clean clothes and returning with muddy ones....LOL

Hey, I was thinking the same thing, Bryan. That most of the Dads in this audience couldn't think of anyplace they would rather be. I know some may be leaving to spend time with their Dads, but even for just a day trip, Perry is close enough.
I can't take any days off, just had almost 7 weeks for this shoulder. But we'll come when we can come, and do what we can do. If I get off at 5pm and they actually have everything packed.....it could happen. Or bright and early Saturday, we'd be there before anybody got rolling good.
How long are you off the bikes, Bryan? Is the healing progressing?

The healing is going very slow Mel. This is my first week of actually walking without the crutches and I am sure I look like an old man taking my time. Not sure I will even be back on the bike yet this season. Time will tell though!

Does Perry Lake have a minimum night stay for camping? I thought that I heard mention of 2 nights minimum. Please inform me!

Well, if we ever get together for a meeting, bring the crutches, I'll probably still be in this sling. If we can just round up a fife, drum, and a big ole' flag somebody can take out picture!
Seriously, sorry it's so slow. I'm not real patient with my progress either, don't know what I thought. Of course, i signed up for this, you just went out one day and came back hurt. Scary how fast things can change.
Maybe somebody will let you run around in their mule or something. Those look pretty comfy.
I'll be riding a lounge chair for the rest of the season, and trying not to fall off of that. Getting up may be another story....

I'm not sure the sites I saw didn't all were primitive though. didn't check out the electric campground. Not sure where sporrowfoot campgroung is. . Someone with more info from there may have more ideas.
