Hey everyeon I am looking for some opinions on 400 to 500 cc utility quads. I am a dirt bike guy so i am not up to speed with the current offerings out there. I am leaning to Honda or suzuki ,but have not ruled out polaris or others yet, but I like dealing with Donnells in independence.
My wife has been riding a kawasaki prarie 400 that is breaking almost every ride now she said to start looking around for something new maybe.
We are looking for a Utility 4x4 for trail riding, trips to chadwick and maybe pushing snow in our driveway. The wife likes the Hi/LOW cvt in the kaw but it looks like the Hondas have 5 speed auto trans. I am looking for experience I guess on the king quad and ranchers so far.

Can am makes a good machine also, but nothing wrong with the Honda or Kawasaki. I'd bet Rick would say go for the Yamaha. I know his yanked me out a couple of times

Yup I agree with Greg I love my Grizzly he is the one that sold me on them. What ever you get I would look into the ones that have power steering its really nice.

I have never ridden on with power steering, does it make a big difference on a 400 or 500 being a smaller quad?

My boyfriend's dad bought a Honda 400 utility quad back in the day. I can't even tell you which one it is. It has been completely abused. Rolled multiple times, used as a tractor, etc. I know for sure that it is older than 5 years old and has tons of hours on it. I would go with Honda. I own a trx450r and I love it. Don't buy a basket case like my trx400ex though. We literally got it in pieces and got it to run but it still needed some work when we sold it.

Well as of right now we need to finish a project jeep (its getting an exoskeleton, new bumper, and a new lift) and get a vehicle with a hitch... Both our jeeps don't have them. I hope sometime we will be able to come ride. Haven't been able to ride because the boyfriend's dad has been sick and sleeping all day. Makes for a very cranky girl. lol.
