Well, I wanted to say thank you all for your prayers.

My wife (Dee Dee) had surgery today to have a cist removed that they thought may be cancer do to some of the test results from previous doctor visits. They did run into quite a bit of scar tissue from her previous operations. However, they did not find any cancer. Thank you God!

We checked her in at about 11:40 AM this morning. The surgery lasted right at 2 hours and then she was in the recovery room for another 2 hours. They rolled her into her room right at 6:00 PM this evening with a happy button that she hits for more morphine........!!!!!

I didn't post anything on here prior to this because she didn't want to tell Bryce until we knew for sure.

My wife is doing pretty good today, all things considered. They took her off of the morphine drip right before lunch. She filled her belly and then was tired from a short walk down the hall way. We decided we would duck out while she was in a good mood before the pain medicine started wearing off.....Just kidding.......We had to come home to do some laundry, clean out the fride and make a run to the grocery store today.....Then back up to the hospital later this afternoon.

Thanks to all for you thoughts and prayers!

Yeah,
She was walking up and down the driveway whenever I went home for lunch yesterday. Still in a lot of pain. Of course, who wouldn't be after getting gutted.

Well, I am still going to physical therapy. I have two more appointments next week before I leave town and they will see how I am as to whether or not I need to go for another week.

My wife is up and moving around a little more each day. She is just really sore from the whole operation thing.

How are you doing Mel?

Trying to be good. It's harder than it ought to be, actually.
The arm is hurting some, but I'm trying not to take anything but ibuprofen, the other stuff all makes me itchy, groggy, and high. I don't like itchy. I'm also real motivated to not break anything loose again, surgery isn't fun, don't want another one for a while. So, I'm pretty bored, actually. Head is still sore, and my left ear is still completely numb, don't know why. Thinking about piercing it a few more times, just cuz' I can't feel it...but I have resisted so far. Told you I was bored. Wink Smile
Did your wife have any trouble with the surgery itself (laying too long, anesthesia, etc.), or is it just the local surgery area that is still sore? Hope things are healing as they should.
Good job on sticking with the physical terrorists Wink . Hope they did you some good!

Mel, just a bunch of excessive scare tissue to deal with. It was pretty much wrapped very tightly around every organ in that particular cavity (ie; intestines, etc.). Therefore, she is pretty tender still.

Hope you get some feeling back soon.

My right foot and the lower portion of my right leg are still numb too. They keep telling me that it is my back that is causing it. Even though, my back doesn't hurt any more than usual.

Wow, sounds like she may have had some endometriosis going on in there? It should make her more comfortable to have it cleared out some, once it heals.
Pinched nerves in the back cause numbness in weird areas. I'm still numb on the outside front of my right hip from the back injury from the first surgery. It'll pass eventually, if it heals right. I have degenerative discs, so it may just be the way it is.
Went to the ortho today. Everything is looking okay so far, and I should be able to go back to what I was doing before, but I'll be off and without pay for another couple of months, most likely. May see about doing some elder-sitting or older-kid sitting in the meantime, if possible. Sell some stuff on EBay, etc.
Have a good weekend, and a great Father's Day!
