Hey guys as most of you know Joplin was hit with a tornado around 5:30 pm last night, Im hearing it was a EF4 that ripped through the heart of the town, the death toll is 89 right now but I think its higher than that.

I wasnt affected by it, I live about 5 miles outside the town.

Heres a link to youtube, I found a storm chaser video.

It is INSANE how much destruction and death happened so fast, I am hoping and praying for the people affected and I wish them strength in the days to come after losing so much.

Dusty, glad to hear that you are all okay. My brother-in-law was called over from the Chanute, KS hospital to drive an ambulance. Our thoughts and prayers are with the famiies.

Wow, what a mess, my daugther goes to school with a girl from Joplin, lucky she and her family were out of town when it hit, but came home the next morning to find their house completely got. Just shows us how much we are really not in charge. Say a little prayer for all those affected, we are all connected some way, to this horrible disaster. Just remeber theres a reason we call today the present or a present, God Bless. Dusty glad to hear you were in the clear, going to take years to fix what happen in a few minutes.

Still over 200 unaccounted for and its sad to hear a lot of the stories from survivors. I heard st joe red cross raised 120,000 in 2 days for them. Thats awesome of the community !! My cousin had beams fall on her and was tossed around some in the storm. She is 12 years old and has fractured ribs 19 stitches 7 staples and bruised bad but she is still alive. Most of my family is from Joplin to Springfield area and we here at home even had a tornado touch down but nothing to their EF5
